Yield Dynamics Wins Major Order from Hitachi

Santa Clara, CA, October 15, 2002 – Yield Dynamics, Inc. (YDI) today announced that it has received a major order from Hitachi Semiconductor (Europe ) GmbH in Landshut, Germany for its Genesis yield management software.

The order encompasses an enterprise deployment of Genesis along with YDI’s Yield Base semiconductor database. Hitachi will rely on YDI’s software for its data storage and integration, engineering data analysis, data mining, and defect analysis requirements. Genesis has already been adopted by multiple Hitachi sites in Japan and Singapore for yield management, and the Hitachi Landshut deployment also includes Genesis’ defect analysis capability for comprehensive defect and yield management.

According to Dr. Andreas Englmueller, Plant Operation Group Manager of Hitachi Landshut, “Hitachi is purchasing Genesis because of the proven effectiveness it has had on solving yield management problems in our facility, as well as the excellent customer support Yield Dynamics provides here in Europe”.
