Cypress Expands Usage of Yield
Dynamics'
Genesis™ Software in Enterprise Deployment

Yield Dynamics,
Inc. announced today that Cypress Semiconductor Corporation has purchased
an expanded enterprise deployment of its Genesis yield management
software.
Cypress, a Yield Dynamics customer since
2000, has been using the Genesis parametric and patented Yield Mine® data
mining solution in its worldwide fabrication facilities in San Jose,
California; Bloomington, Minnesota; Round Rock, Texas; and the
Philippines. With this current purchase, Cypress has expanded its
Genesis platform to include Yield Dynamics' defect and memory analysis
solutions for a true enterprise-wide solution.
These new capabilities build on Cypress'
existing seven-figure USD Genesis investment by enabling Cypress to
pinpoint yield problems in its leading-edge SRAM memory products
(including specialty memories). Yield Dynamics' highly sophisticated
pattern recognition algorithms quickly identify complex geometric patterns
of electrical failures hidden among the millions of memory cells in
Cypress' SRAM. The software rapidly determines what manufacturing
conditions and/or optical defects caused the memory cell to fail.
Through rapid detection of root cause electrical failures by Yield
Dynamics' patented data mining software, the Genesis defect and memory
analysis solution suites permit early corrective action in the fabrication
process, resulting in higher yields and increased manufacturing
effectiveness.
