Yield Dynamics’ Genesis Software Purchased by
ATI Technologies for
Corporate-Wide Yield Management

Sunnyvale, CA, April 15, 2004 Yield Dynamics, Inc. (“YDI”) announced today that ATI Technologies, Inc. (TSX:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) has purchased YDI’s Genesis Fabless™ software for its enterprise-wide yield management solution.

ATI’s solution encompasses multiple synchronized Yield Base® database instances across ATI’s facilities in Markham, Ontario, Canada and Taiwan (Hsin Chu, and Kao Hsiung).  The Genesis floating client software includes YDI’s patented Yield Mine DFM® (Design for Manufacturability) data mining, Fabless Parametric and Reliability Analysis software, and custom workflow development capability.  ATI’s solution also includes enterprise-wide data unification from multiple foundries and test houses, as well as several ATI legacy databases, performed by YDI’s data integration services group.

Adopting an enterprise-wide fabless yield management solution will enable ATI engineers and managers to manage multiple data sets from outsourced operations around the world, improving efficiency, productivity, and yields, while reducing costs.

According to Jim Seto, ATI’s Vice President of ASIC Engineering and Operations, “ATI’s decision to invest in YDI’s software platform corporate-wide was based on the Genesis product’s proven effectiveness in both foundry and fabless manufacturing environments, YDI’s global technical support presence, and ATI’s ongoing process of improving its yields and manufacturing effectiveness to keep pace with the strong demand for its leading-edge graphics processors.  Especially attractive to us is the ability to use Genesis’ workflow custom development to embody our own proprietary yield enhancement techniques within the yield software platform.”

Homi Fatemi, YDI’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented, “ATI’s selection of Genesis reflects the benefit that world-leading fabless companies can receive from YDI’s database integration across multiple nodes, broad applications for parametric data analysis, and availability of a user-friendly Workflow Development Platform™ for effortless ‘drag-and-drop’ development of proprietary yield improvement methodologies.”
